My approach is person centred, compassionate, tailored to your unique needs and focused on helping you achieve meaningful change, personal growth and most of all…hope.

My Approach

20.png

Having worked in education for over 18 years I witnessed how mental health of young people, teachers and their families were deteriorating and wanted to be part of the solution, so I entered the world of counselling and psychotherapy and have never looked back.

I have extensive experience working with diverse groups, as a qualified SENDCO, Emotion Coach and NHS National Autism Practitioner Trainer I have an in-depth understanding how everyone is an individual and my counselling approach reflects this.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework so you can be assured of my professionalism.

I have a particular passion in supporting all things to do with parenting. Having experienced personal traumas as a parent and had life changing therapy, I understand the power and hope counselling can give you and the impact this can have on your whole family.

If young people are to thrive their parents must too. Parenting can feel impossible at times and as the most influential person in your child’s life YOU matter too.

My Charity Work

Charity work is a passion of mine. I volunteered for Cruse, so have extensive knowledge of working with grief. I worked on crisis lines for PANDAS and supported many struggling parents, both mums and dads, and am a Practitioner for the Foundation for Infant Loss.

I have been privileged to work with a local charity, Service Six, counselling young people and adults with a multitude of challenges.

I believe everyone deserves the chance to lead a life to their full potential and my extensive qualifications and experience working with teenagers, parents, special needs and neurodivergence equips me with a greater understanding of how to help clients overcome barriers they may face but also recognise the power in their uniqueness.

"My daughter was able to flourish after coaching with Laura.

She couldn’t see past her anxiety about exams, but these sessions taught her how to cope and now she is thriving, doing A Levels, understanding herself."
